We were engaged by business and education groups to lead an independent expenditure effort to try to flip the script for Acosta.
Republican Dante Acosta was expected to lose. Already down 25-53 among independents, he faced a $2 million independent expenditure onslaught against him.
We created a path to victory using advanced modeling. We coupled traditional polling and voter typography analysis to identify the narrow group of 26,000 households (out of over 300,000 households) that would determine the race.
Our analysis and plan allowed our stakeholders to spend a fraction of the resources as their opponents and still win by breaking through to the voters that mattered.
We created and executed a targeted, 9-piece direct mail campaign to that narrow audience.
Despite being outspent 10:1, we flipped independents and Acosta won against all odds.
